“Condo Mania” Surrounds Durham Central Park!

Indyweek editor Lisa Sorg published an interesting feature this week about condos and apartments springing up downtown–including adaptive reuse and new structures surrounding Durham Central Park. “Central Park has a lot of potential. The question is how do you take advantage of that and grow it without destroying what made it attractive in the first place?” says Durham native Alston Gardner, who is buying 619–621 Foster St.

“We are excited about the opportunity for more people to live downtown and enjoy all its amenities.  Durham Central Park will become an even greater asset to Durham!” says Lee Ann Tilley, Durham Central Park Board Chair. DCP Executive Director Ann Alexander seconds her positive outlook. “I will be happy to see more condos within walking distance of Durham Central Park.  The development of DCP has been a catalyst for this growth. A thriving, walkable community is exactly what the original vision of DCP had in mind over 15 years ago and now it’s finally happening!”
