Durham Central Park is a Great Event Space!

Rent the Pavilion or the Leaf for events large and small

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, outdoor gathering size is limited to 50 people maximum and events are permitted as set forth by the City’s Safer-at-Home Order. Pavilion Rentals

The Pavilion is a versatile 9000 sq. ft. covered space centrally located in Durham Central Park. This space has been used for weddings, concerts, fundraisers, family reunions, the farmers’ market, fitness classes, and more. Pavilion rentals can include access to the bathrooms, water, electricity, and storage depending on the event’s needs. *Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, outdoor gathering sizes are limited to 50 people. We are unable to host larger events until local and state ordinances allow for larger gatherings. 

The Leaf

Built in 2011, the Leaf provides an intimate gathering space on the east side of the park, adjacent to Mount Merrill and the Great Lawn. It is the perfect space for a wedding ceremony, birthday party, or family gatherings. 

The Leaf is available to rent for $15/hour with a 3 hour minimum and a $50 (refundable) security deposit.  Rentals of the Leaf do not include access to the bathrooms in the Pavilion. Alcohol is allowed with the proper permits.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, outdoor gatherings at the Leaf are limited to a maximum of 50 people.

About the Park

Durham Central Park is an exciting downtown destination that offers a venue for cultural activities and is part of a 24-hour, authentic, walkable neighborhood for arts, recreation, and locally-owned businesses.

Durham Central Park, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that manages and maintains the five acre green space in Durham at 501 Foster Street. DCP’s sole mission is to create and sustain a unique urban park to engage the Durham community.
