November 6 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Liberty Arts Studios & Foundry and Durham Central Park present the 5th annual public Iron Pour at Durham Central Park Saturday, November 6 from 4-9 p.m. All evening and into the night, 4,000 pounds of molten iron will be poured into molds, in an exciting fiery display creating the iron tiles made by the public and sculptures made by NC artists. Additionally, there will be Liberty Arts artists’ work for sale, Liberty Arts T-shirts, beer glasses and hand-blown glass pumpkins. Come enjoy drumming performances from Batalá Durham, Fire Breathers, kid-friendly events, local food trucks and craft beer while watching this very creative and gritty Durham event.

This year’s Iron Pour has been sponsored by The Forest at Duke.

We are asking that all attendees wear their masks and be mindful of physical distancing during the event.

You can participate, too! Carve your own tile mold (scratch block) to be cast in iron. Sign up for a scratch block workshop where you will receive a 6” x 6” blank tile mold into which you can carve any shallow-relief design you so wish. No experience necessary! Cost per individual is $40. Head to libertyartsnc.org/classes to sign up.
