Join the Southern Documentary Fund and Audio Under the Stars for an evening of audio stories exploring resilience and connection. You can expect unexpected companions, reflections on what it means to be well, and a chance to celebrate the odd and wonderful ways we found solace during the pandemic. Along the way we’ll try to navigate the limbo of life online and consider what it might cost to keep a promise to an old friend.
Bring a comfortable chair or something to stretch out on and travel with us to surprising and enlightening places from the comfort of your own picnic blanket.
If the weather is good, meet us on the Great Lawn, the gorgeous grassy hillside between the Mount Merrill playground and the skate park.
If the weather is wet, we’ll shift to the Pavilion, with optional seating on the grass. Bring your weather gear!
This event is free, but please consider bringing a cash donation or making a donation online: https://southerndocumentaryfund.org/audio-under-the-stars/
Picnics and well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome at Durham Central Park. There are many local businesses in downtown Durham where you can enjoy food and drinks before or after the show.
Please note: no alcohol, smoking, or vaping allowed.
This project was supported by Duke Arts, Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, Southern Documentary Fund, and North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. #NCArts #SparkTheArtsNC
