Durham Cinematheque presents Movies in the Park 2017. Come early, picnic, enjoy the twilight. Show starts at 9 p.m. 9th season. Real film under real stars. All ages. Bring your own chair or blanket. Admission is free but we pass the hat. Please make a donation.
What’s So Funny? Peace, Love and Understanding? It’s a first –patriotically pairing social consciousness with laffs! Comic interludes spice up a serious program including The Language of Faces, a 1961 documentary about peacefully demonstrating against war. Also featured is An Interview with Bruce Gordon, an extraordinary film of a SNCC field secretary speaking his mind about racism and the work at hand, recorded October, 1963 in Selma, Alabama.
