BullCity Edition: Freedom & Good Food Fest

Celebrate Independence Day weekend in the heart of downtown Durham at the BullCity Edition: Freedom & Good Food Fest, a free, family-friendly two-day festival at Durham Central Park on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Kick off the holiday weekend on Friday with a relaxed summer evening filled with incredible food trucks, local craft vendors, refreshing drinks, and live entertainment. Whether you’re meeting friends after work, bringing the family out for dinner, or looking for a fun way to start the holiday weekend, you’ll find something for everyone.

Dance the evening away during DJ Morrison’s Line Dancing Power Hour featuring Anaya Daffe of Fleet DJs, then keep the energy going with headlining DJ Brian Dawson before the night culminates with a live performance from Shorty Corleone & The Creatives, bringing the unmistakable sound and excitement of DC’s Go-Go music to the Bull City beginning at 8:15 PM.

The celebration continues on Saturday, July 4, with another full day of food, shopping, music, and family fun. Kids can cool off during our exciting Foam Party from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, while music lovers can enjoy an afternoon set from DJ Deron Juan featuring classic old-school hip-hop and ’90s favorites from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Beginning at 6:15 PM, DJ R&B takes over with his popular Lovers & Friends R&B Mix, followed by another high-energy live performance from Shorty Corleone & The Creatives.

As the evening comes to a close on July 4, gather on the beautiful Durham Central Park lawn to enjoy the nearby fireworks display. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and pop-up tents to relax and enjoy one of Durham’s favorite Independence Day traditions.

Throughout both days, explore 25+ food trucks, local artisans, specialty vendors, sweet treats, refreshing beverages, and activities designed for the entire family. Whether you’re discovering a new favorite meal, dancing with friends, supporting local businesses, or making memories with your children, the BullCity Freedom & Good Food Fest is the perfect way to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend.
